The Indian T20 League schedule was finally announced on Sunday evening. Defending champions Mumbai will be facing runners-up Chennai in the opening encounter in Abu Dhabi on September 19.

This year's Indian T20 League was originally scheduled to be held in March 29 to May 24 but was postponed barely two weeks before the start of the tournament due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Indian T20 League has been moved to UAE due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in India. The upcoming edition of the T20 league will be held in the three venues of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in the UAE.

Indian T20 League 2020 is being held in bio secure bubbles in the UAE and  all players and support staff are being regularly tested.
